When we moved to Northwood to open Butler’s, we also started our second business, Wingo’s Wecords. Don has been a music collector since he was a kid. He says it all began when his Aunt Winnie bought him his first Beach Boys 45 (Surfin’Safari/409) when he was 11 years old. His love for music led to his college radio show at Springfield College (1970s) to his management of “Sessions Music” in Portsmouth (1980s) to the launch of Wingo’s Wecords (1990s).
(FYI, “Wingo” was Don’s nickname as Captain of the Springfield College Basketball Team. The nickname came from Harthorne Nathaniel Wingo, who played for the Knicks at that time. According to both Wingos, they were crowd favorites!)
Wingo’s began as wholesale vintage vinyl supplier. Don traveled the country buying Jazz & Soul LPs for large record stores in Europe and Japan. Since those days (when we were faxing inventory lists overseas), Wingo’s has evolved. Now, we have a dedicated retail space in Butler’s, we supply all of the vintage vinyl in the Portsmouth NH Bullmoose Music store, and we maintain a heavy presence online with an ebay store of more than 5000 new & used record albums.
We are always looking for good quality used records—we buy everything from personal collections to radio station collections to old store stock. We are especially interested in Classic Rock, Jazz, Soul, Folk, Disco, Spoken Word (45s & LPs). In addition to records, we buy music memorabilia including posters, vintage concert t-shirts, tour programs, etc.
If you have records to sell, please give us a call at 603-496-2549 or send us an email. We are always happy to evaluate collections. The prices we pay depend on the current retail value.
